The Surveyor's Office is responsible for the following tasks within Warrick County:
- Section Corner Perpetuation: The surveyor must locate, reference, and maintain original government section corners, establishing a legal framework for property boundaries.
- Legal Survey Records: Maintain a legal survey record book containing maps, plats, and notes for sections, subdivisions, and tracts.
- Drainage Management: Oversee the construction, reconstruction, and maintenance of all county regulated drains (ditch management) as a member of the County Drainage Board.
- Legal Descriptions: Review and maintain subdivision plats, annexation descriptions, and land descriptions for accuracy.
- Alcohol License Certification: Verify that proposed new alcohol permits in unincorporated areas are within valid locations.
